Overview

In Swordburst 2, there are 5 different main weapon types — longswords, greatswords, rapiers, katanas and spears. There are some variants on these base types but they do not affect the major combat mechanics, just range and cosmetic appeal.

The main weapon types have different attack styles and ranges, varying on each weapon.

Rarity

Rarity for items determines two things. The drop chance (excluding most burst items), and how many times the item can be upgraded. Generally speaking, rarities also indicate the "Max level" of a floor, such as the legendary drops on floor 9 indicating that level 85 was the max level at the time of floor 9's release.

Upgrades (see Upgrade Crystal) for rarities are as follow:

• Commons and Uncommons can be upgraded to +10
• Rares can be upgraded to +15
• Legendaries and Tributes can be upgraded to +20
• Bursts can be upgraded to +25

The drop chances for each rarity significantly increase in difficulty to drop. To learn more about drop chances see Mobs/Drops and Chests

Auras

Auras are equippable cosmetic items, obtainable through Aura Chests, Burst Store, and trading.

They do not provide additional stats; they are only cosmetics to customize the look of your character and gear.

Longswords

Steel longsword

Longswords are single-handed weapons that have a hit rate of 16 times per 10 seconds. They have a critical chance of 12%. You can also use 2 swords at once, but the damage will be an average of the 2 swords if they are different variants or upgrade levels.

The attack pattern for this weapon strikes at an angle two times and then strikes at an angle in the opposite direction. (45-45-45)

• The Dual Wield is a counterpart of the longsword class. It uses 2 longswords at once that strike with much more range (180-180-360).
• Longswords lack range when compared to other weapons.
• Sub-categorical weapon classes of the Longsword include Axes, Daggers, Fans, and Hammers.
  • There are more sub-categories for Longswords than any other weapon type.
• If you choose to dual wield two Longswords, the damage is calculated by what you have equipped in each hand. Your total damage per hit is 60% of your Right Hand's sword damage plus 40% of your Left Hand's sword damage. Crit chance is also calculated this way, but boosts still add up. For the best results, avoid dual-wielding two longswords with different damages. Instead, just use the stronger of the two alone, aside from if the increased skill damage and atack radius are extremely important.
  • Note: if you dual wield two of the exact same weapon, the damage will be the same as it would be if you were single wielding it. Critical Chance and attack speed are NOT increased if you choose to Dual Wield, instead your Damage and Crit will be 60% of your Right Hand and 40% of your Left Hand. The only major change is your attack radius. This also means you will always lose damage if you use a stronger sword with a weaker one in your left, instead of just single wielding the stronger one.

Hammers, Axes, and Scythes are single-handed weapons that have a hit rate of 16 times per 10 seconds. They have a critical chance of 12%.

• These weapons function exactly like Longswords, with the exception of model size and hitboxes.

Formaug's Demise (Pillar)

Daggers, Fans, Discs, Pillars, and Fists are single-handed weapons that have a hit rate of 16 times per 10 seconds. They have a critical chance of 12%. The attack pattern for these weapons strikes at an angle two times, then strikes downwards. (45-45-0)

• These weapons function exactly like Longswords, with the exception of model size and hitboxes.
• Currently, there is only one pillar-type weapon in the game, being Formaug's Demise.
• Currently, there is only one 'fist'-type weapon in the game, being Fist.

Crosses

Redeemer (Cross)

Crosses are single-handed weapons that have a hit rate of 16 times per 10 seconds. They have a critical chance of 12%. Currently, there is only one cross-type weapon in the game, being Redeemer.

• This class of weapon is functionally identical to longswords.

Katanas

The attack pattern for this weapon strikes sideways two times, then pushes forward. (180-180-0)

• This weapon has no counterparts.
• With the Ninja Animation Pack, it increases frontal range and provides a wider attack. (60-180-60)

Blue Novice Armor
